Born and raised in Orlando, FL, Kay Coolin began her rap journey on a dare from her executive producer, T-Boogie On Da Beat. What started as a challenge quickly sparked something real. Their first track, “Traffic,” dropped in June 2018—and when friends and family demanded more, Kay didn’t hesitate to deliver.

Later that year, she took her talents to South Beach, relocating to Miami and completing her debut mixtape, SnapBack the Mixtape, which released in March 2019. She followed up with her second project, the Coolin with Kay EP, released on December 31, 2019.

As the world shifted during the pandemic, Kay began crafting her debut album, Boughetto: Mixin Bougie & Ghetto, introducing it with the bold single “Comeback Cat (CBC).” The buzz grew fast—too fast—and she found herself entangled with the wrong team. The project was sabotaged, and the album’s momentum was derailed. Devastated but not defeated, Kay stepped back to regroup, choosing to pour her energy into her next purpose.

That pivot birthed Kay’s Incense Of Things (KIOT), a spiritual multimedia brand bridging healing and art. KIOT now exists as a creative coven—a space for artists and visionaries to express their transformation through podcasting, production, and storytelling. Kay also returned to school to pursue a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, building her business on solid ground.

Though 3.5 years passed, Kay never stopped writing. In 2024, after a spontaneous invite to a studio session in St. Petersburg, she effortlessly held her own on a collab with local artists. Her presence was undeniable. Word spread. When asked about her comeback, she responded simply:

“I was gone… but I never really left.”

Now, Kay is back from the dead—literally and spiritually.

Her upcoming album Back From The Dead marks the official rebirth of her sound, her voice, and her mission. The first single, “Boss Ass Bitch (B.A.B),” dropping 4.20.25, is piping hot and unapologetic. It sets the tone for the next chapter: bossy, gothic, spiritual, and raw.
